The head of the Russian Export Center’s representative office in Iran said the IranPlast exhibition paves the way for enhanced collaboration between Iranian and Russian companies in the plastics and polymer industry.

Speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of IranPlast 2025, Khosro Gasanbekov described the event as a strategic platform for dialogue and cooperation between industry players from both countries.

“IranPlast offers a valuable opportunity for Iranian and Russian firms to meet, negotiate, and expand their cooperation in the plastics sector,” he said.

He noted that bilateral ties between Tehran and Moscow have been steadily strengthening, citing recent meetings of Iranian and Russian presidents and the signing of key agreements, particularly on free trade, during the latest session of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.

“These agreements reflect a mutual interest to deeper economic ties and building a brighter future,” he added.

Gasanbekov expressed optimism that events like IranPlast would facilitate cooperation between Iranian and Russian companies involved in plastics and polymer industry, leveraging the existing capacities of both nations.

Iran’s 19th International Exhibition of Raw Material, Plastics, Rubber, Machinery and Equipment, known as IranPlast 2025, kicked off on September 8 in Tehran and will run to September 11.

The event was inaugurated by Hassan Abbaszadeh, CEO of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC), alongside senior officials from Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors.
