An Omani businessman expressed interests in making investment in Iran’s petrochemical, plastics, and polymer industries, citing the potential for constructive partnerships with Iranian manufacturers.

Speaking on the sidelines of IranPlast 2025, the CEO of Al-Wateen Al-Arabiyah Al-Mutamaiyza, Hassan Qatan, said it was his first time visiting the event and described it as a valuable opportunity to assess Iran’s industrial capabilities and market potential.

“IranPlast provides a platform to evaluate the strength of Iranian companies in the plastics sector and explore viable market opportunities,” Qattan said.

He noted that his visit to the event was aimed at initiating discussions with Iranian firms to explore cooperation potential in oil and petrochemical industry and find investment opportunities in petrochemical as well as plastics and polymer industries.

He emphasized that his company, active in imports and exports of food products, is now seeking to expand its cooperation with Iranian firms.

“We plan to hold talks with Iranian companies throughout the exhibition,” he said, adding, “If the pricing and quality of Iranian polymer and plastic products meet our expectations, we are optimistic about establishing a productive partnership.”

Iran’s 19th International Exhibition of Raw Material, Plastics, Rubber, Machinery and Equipment, known as IranPlast 2025, kicked off on September 8 in Tehran and will run to September 11.

The event was inaugurated by Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company, alongside senior officials from Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors.
